About the Tool Crib Application

The Tool Crib Application is built to simply manage tooling inventory and equipment’s in the CNC shop floors and keep track all the tooling information. Its specifically designed for machine shops to track organize and maintain tools used across different departments for CNC machines such as lathes, mills, drills, and more.

#1. ToolCrib replaces manual logs, spreadsheets, and diverse records with an automated tool tracking and inventory system.
#2. It centralizes all tool crib data e.g., tools, holders, inserts, usage logs, tool maintenance, etc. into a single, easily accessible platform.
#3. Provides detailed information for each tool, including specifications, part numbers (GRNs), tool images, locations, and maintenance history.
#4. ToolCrib also provides custom reports and usage analytics for inventory status, tool usage, maintenance, return, and tool issuance on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
#5. Reduces tool loss, prevents production delays due to missing or worn-out tools, and increases overall tool life and efficiency.

Let’s Utilize Tool Crib to Manage and Track Tool Inventory and Comprehensive Tooling Information

ToolCrib is a comprehensive tool inventory management system that allows users to efficiently add, edit, and track tools with detailed information and images. It provides detailed tooling information across departments like Lathe, Mill, Quality, Grind, Gear, and Bench. Manages all tool gauges, QRNs, serial numbers, and tool kits and store detailed attributes like specifications, drawings, location, and availability.

Comprehensive Overview of Tool Crib Features

ToolCrib is built in with a centralized database to manage and maintain a single organized repository for all tool and usage data for manufacturing machine shops, so every department can access information across departments like Lathe, Mill, Quality, Grind, Gear, and Bench. It manages all tool gauges, QRNs, serial numbers, and tool kits and store detailed attributes like specifications, drawings, location, and availability.

Tool Crib Manager

User Role (Admin, Manager, Attendant)

We have added user roles and access permission in the ToolCrib system to control over the specific tasks on a role basis for Admin, Manager, and Attendant. Each with defined access and responsibilities, administrators have full system control, including managing user accounts, configuring system settings, and accessing all reports and data.
The managers can oversee daily operations, approve or audit QRN entries, monitor inventory and toolkit statuses, and generate detailed usage and stock reports. The attendants can easily handle frontline tasks such as creating QRNs, receiving POs, putting away tools, assembling toolkits, and working alongside employees

Tool Crib ToolKit

Tool Kit, Kitting, and Inventory Management

Tool Kit, Kitting, and Inventory Management are three comprehensive features in the ToolCrib system that work together to optimize shop floor operations by organizing, tracking, and maintaining tools needed for production.
Toolkits are created and assigned per job or shop order for quick access to the exact tools required. And kitting is used to set pre-assembled tools so that they can be utilized accurately and on time.
The system manages inventory through unique QRN codes for real-time updates, adjustments, tool tracking, and calibration scheduling. Toolcrib also features to locate/see lost tools, mark damaged ones for repair, and log new tools via purchase orders.

Tool Crib KRONOS

KRONOS

The KRONOS feature in ToolCrib is a centralized task management and activity logging interface for ToolCrib operators. It is designed to track daily operations, manage tool inventory tasks, and ensure time accountability. ToolCrib Kronos streamlines shop floor activity and links tools, employees, and time into a single view. It is functionally a task console and employee logbook that assists in the organization, tracking, and execution of routine and exceptional tasks in the shop floor environment.

Tool Crib Departments

Tool Crib Departments

We have added departments feature in Tool Crib to get a structured way to manage tools parts and equipment based on specific shop functions like Lathe, Mill, Grind, Gear, Quality, and more. The department view gives quick access to inventory by machine, type, and function. It provides inventory access, supports toolkit preparation, kitting, and each department acts as a dedicated zone for managing issuing and tracking tools related to its operations.

Tool Crib Inventory

Inventory Management Features

ToolCrib is a comprehensive tool inventory management system that allows users to efficiently add, edit, and track tools (the tools are added department/machine type or category wise. All tools are sorted by their category and machine type with detailed information and images). It also provides comprehensive tooling information (each tool information, usage, department wise, tool tracking, maintenance, shortage, etc.). In Tool Crib inventory, each tool is identified by a unique QRN (Quick Reference Number) for quick lookup, tracking, and usage monitoring. The users can assign tools for use, return them, or mark them for maintenance as needed.

Reporting, Analytics, & History

ToolCrib also features comprehensive reporting, analytics, and history features for complete visibility into tool usage, inventory movement, and departmental activities e.g., daily QRNs, QRN Stock Outs, Kitting, Inventory, tool usage, maintenance reports, etc. The managers can generate reports to track tool issues, returns, maintenance, and stock levels over time. It also offers history logs to see changes, verify that every transaction is traceable, and support audit reports, about who used, for what job, etc.

Simply Manage and Track Your Tool Inventory and Get Comprehensive Tooling Information

Let us show you how ToolCrib can simplify your tool management and provide comprehensive tooling information (each tool information, usage, department wise, tool tracking, maintenance, shortage, etc.).

This Tool Crib integration with the setup app is for automatic synchronization of tooling data (e.g. tool selection, maintenance, cutting tools like end mills, drill bits, face mills, reamers, thread mills, and specialized tools) to ensure only tools available on a specific machine are selectable for setup sheets associated with that machine profile.

Tool Crib Integration (Optional)

ToolCrib is also integrated with other applications e.g., with Setup Sheet App, for Operational Data Sheets (ODS) and Engineering Drawings (including 1st 2nd and 3rd angle views with dimensions and part visuals). This integration is to streamline machine shop workflows by centralizing access to critical technical documentation and easy acess to all relevant information.

The users can directly attach and retrieve ODS files, laser operation, get tooling information while creating setup sheets and also directly see/edit/print reports. Tool Crib is also integrated with the setup sheet app is for automatic synchronization of tooling data (e.g. tool selection by tool type, quality, and machine, cutting tools like end mills, drill bits, face mills, reamers, thread mills, and all specialized tools)
